About Joanne

Hello, I’m Joanne Roberts, a Deafblind artist based in the beautiful North Tyne Valley of Northumberland and the founder of the Moment in Time Gallery.

Art has fascinated me since early childhood, and I’ve been working as an artist since 2013. Today my work is mainly showcased here in my online gallery, with occasional appearances at local craft fairs.

Over the years I’ve developed a distinct style across watercolour, pastel, pencil and gouache. My pieces are inspired by local landscapes, seascapes, dramatic trees, and glowing sunrises and sunsets. Sometimes I simply let my imagination take the lead and see what unfolds, and the result is always something one of a kind. I love bringing my art to life on all sorts of surfaces, including paper, canvas, plant pots and metal.

Alongside the gallery, I’m active in my local community as a volunteer treasurer and small business owner.
